Urban Gardens Help Refugees

Catholic Charities of Louisville, Kentucky resettled close to 1,500 refugees last year alone. Through innovative programming, they are helping these newcomers to be self-sufficient within the first few months of their arrival. This video outlines two of their programs, Common Earth, where 222 refugees have space in community gardens to grow their own food, and Common Table, a culinary training program that teaches marketable job skills.

This video was created for Catholic News Service by Thing in a Pot Producer Katie Breidenbach. Read the accompanying article here.
