A group of high schoolers broke out of their comfort zones… and got soaked. Teens attending the Missionary Disciples Institute hosted by Marian University in Indianapolis were sent on a unique scavenger hunt to teach them about life in poverty. In the pouring rain, they had to find and take pictures of edible plants that were growing in an underserved neighborhood on the south side of Indianapolis to mimic the constant quest for nutritious food. The annual week-long camp aims to teach teenagers ways of serving others by tasks like the scavenger hunt as well as keynote speeches, prayer sessions, sacraments and small group break-outs.
