Light Up the Club

Nearly one quarter of the kids in Monroe County, Indiana live in poverty. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Bloomington are providing care, opportunities and development to the kids who need them most. The group only charges $20 per child for daily after school and summer care, which allows many parents to hold better jobs and provide for their families. Their mission is to continue “lighting up” the lives of young people, giving them the support they need to light up the world.
This short film was created to be played at the Annual Auction, a fundraiser hosted by the supporting organization the Auxiliary to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bloomington. After seeing the video, even though they had already given during various other activities throughout the evening, donors gave an additional $30,000 to support the clubs.
In addition to the short film, Thing in a Pot Productions also created four short promotional videos to be released online before the event, promoting ticket sales and increasing excitement. These videos were viewed over one thousand times – surpassing another event-related video by nearly 600%.
