Indiana Town Celebrates Christkindlmarkt

Nuns, an angel, hand bells and cookies – sounds heavenly, right? It also happens to be very German. The small town of Ferdinand, Indiana rung in the Christmas season with their celebration of Christkindlmarkt, which is patterned off of a festival by the same name begun in 16th century-Germany. The opening celebration featured musical nuns, an angel known as the Christkindl and sale of German cookies.
